Chelsea’s transfer ban and Barca’s possible summer target Azpilicueta

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has been officially sanctioned. As a result, the club will face a transfer ban and cannot buy, sell or renew players. Azpilicueta has Barca’s proposal on the table and he can leave for free at the end of the season. Some reports are suggesting that Azpilicueta’s contract has been extended automatically for one more year unilaterally after he played 30 games this season before the transfer ban so he can’t leave. Nothing is clear yet but one thing is certain if his contract has not been renewed automatically then he will surely leave Chelsea this summer because Chelsea will not be able to renew him due to the transfer ban.

Riqui Puig is set to leave on loan this summer

Riqui Puig is clear that with his current role he cannot continue at Barça. He will look for a way out. Many people in the club support him to go out on loan. Wolves already wanted Riqui Puig last season and they have his name on the table again. He could enter the Adama operation.

Ansu Fati’s recovery update

Ansu Fati’s recovery is going well but the club will not risk him with an early return and he is expected to be available at the end of April.

Rotations expected against Galatasaray

There is a good chance Xavi will rotate his side due to the tight schedule in March. Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are expected to start from the bench in tonight’s match against Galatasaray in the Uefa Europa League Round of 16. Eric Garcia, Nico Gonzalez, and Memphis Depay are expected to start tonight.
