FC Barcelona have already conducted their first training session of the year 2024. The new year promises to deliver a new version of Barcelona, one that is very committed to fulfilling their objectives. However, Xavi himself has taken certain steps to ensure that his team delivers on their promises.

The first of such decisions was the non-stop training routine that is now being implemented. Since the return of the players from their winter vacations, they have not had a single day of respite. Even the first day of the year, originally questioned as a day of rest, was now a day of training.

However, Barcelona did manage to see a rather uncommon face in training. As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, 16-year-old Barcelona fullback Albert Navarro took part in the latest training. His inclusion comes as an uncommon occurrence, as he is typically not found in first-team training sessions.

Although, Navarro still retains something special as he is undoubtedly a unique talent. Having trained before under Xavi as well, he is currently one of Barça’s stars in the younger ranks of the club.

He also just happens to be one of the side’s youngest debutants in the UEFA Youth League and also scored in the competition.

His inclusion in the first team training comes right after some bad news, however. Marcos Alonso and the club have ultimately made the decision to have him undergo surgical intervention for his injury. With the Spaniard now sidelined, as well as compatriot Inigo Martinez, Navarro gets his opportunity.

FC Barcelona continue to look towards their upcoming game against UD Las Palmas. As they train for the clash, they hope to ensure all three points come their way.

While Navarro’s participation seems improbable, nothing can be completely ruled out heading into the game. Given the fact that other young prodigies have gotten their chance at some point, so could the young left-back.
