FC Barcelona have only one match left to play before the October international break starts. This match is against Alaves in La Liga, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday.

Several players from the Blaugrana squad are expected to leave the club to fulfill their national team duties, most of them with Spain, but other players will also be called up by their respective national teams.

Spain are set to play against Denmark and Serbia in this international break as they continue to compete for the UEFA Nations League trophy. In fact, SPORT reports that Luis de la Fuente has already published the squad list for these two fixtures, and the most notable aspect of this list is the return of Pau Cubarsi.

The Barcelona center-back was one of the players that de la Fuente discarded right before finalizing his list for UEFA EURO 2024. However, the youngster was a part of the Olympic team that won the gold with Spain only a few weeks after Luis de la Fuente had led his own team to win the EURO 2024.

In the last international break, Cubarsi was called up by the U-21 side. But now, he will once again play with the senior side, especially as some important defensive players, like Robin Le Normand, are not available.

But, while the defender has made this list, some other players who were expected to get a call-up have not been named in this list.

The most notable absence from Barcelona’s perspective is Inigo Martinez, who has not been called up by the Spanish coach despite his incredible start to the season under Flick. Similarly, Marc Casado and Alejandro Balde have also not been called up for these two matches.

Other Barcelona players like Pedri, Lamine Yamal, and Ferran Torres continue to remain a part of the squad. The former two are starters for Spain, while Ferran Torres usually comes off the bench. Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez have not been called up because of their injuries.
