17-year-old Barcelona fullback not distracted by incoming offers

Although Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi took most of the spotlight, some other youngsters also made quite a leap with FC Barcelona last season. This was especially the case with the likes of Fermin Lopez, Marc Guiu, and Hector Fort.

The last of these players, Fort, started the last season with Juvenil A, then moved up to Barcelona Atletic before making the jump to the first team, where he made 10 official appearances under Xavi Hernandez.

According to SPORT, this rapid development of the player has not gone unnoticed, and several clubs are closely following the defender, with the Spanish side Alaves already being interested in a loan.

However, Fort has no intentions of leaving FC Barcelona and is currently looking forward to the start of the pre-season to convince the new coach, Hansi Flick.

The youth and versatility of the La Masia graduate will make him quite a compelling option for the German tactician, but he will still have to face competition for a prominent place in the squad from some unlikely quarters.

Joao Cancelo is currently occupied with the EURO 2024 and will not be available for the start of the pre-season, and his continuity at the Catalan club is also not guaranteed after his loan period expired two days ago.

Furthermore, Alejandro Balde, who is still recovering from his ACL tear will not be able to be at his best for some weeks, leaving a clear path for Fort.

However, the two returning loanees, Julian Araujo and Alex Valle, who are both guaranteed a place in the upcoming pre-season, will be the two players who will compete with Fort for a place in the starting lineup during the pre-season.

But with his heart set on succeeding with FC Barcelona, Fort will still get the opportunity to impress Flick in the upcoming pre-season, and will do his all to ensure he does not have to leave on a loan this summer.
