FC Barcelona continue to make headways with their talented youth and developed players. From Lamine Yamal to Gavi and beyond, La Masia and the Barcelona subsidiary are doing wonders at present. These introductions become even more special considering their contributions to the first team.

With Yamal making history with both Spain and FC Barcelona, others were determined to follow that up. Fermin Lopez was yet another to showcase his talents against Shakhtar Donetsk in the recent clash. Yet, a third followed up in the form of 17-year-old Marc Guiu.

Eyes on El Clasico

As highlighted by SPORT, the young teenage striker will be hoping to complete his ‘hattrick’ of games. Having already represented Barcelona in a flashy manner against Athletic Bilbao, he has now also added a UEFA Champions League debut under his belt as well.

While he could not exactly score against Shakhtar in 33 seconds like he did against Bilbao, his introduction was impactful. By putting him on the field at a tense point of the game, Xavi showcased his faith in the youngster.

Youngsters continue to join

Given that Robert Lewandowski’s presence is still uncertain, Guiu could even be included in the squad for El Clasico. An appearance against Real Madrid would cap off what has been a wonderful October for the 17-year-old.

His participation could even put him in the spotlight, given that he has shown to be capable of making an impact. Apart from Guiu, other youngsters were also given a chance against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal were already there, but Marc Casado was also introduced late into the game even when Barcelona were already struggling against their Ukrainian opposition.

The win ended up putting Barcelona at top of the Group H with a perfect record in the Champions League. With 9 points from three games, the Catalan giants are cruising through the European competition.
