Two stars from the FC Barcelona youth academy have got into the spotlight for their performances with the first team this season, Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez.
These youngsters have risen to the occasion at a time when the team desperately needed them, and their emergence goes on to show the good work being done for youth development at the Catalan club.
In this regard, there is even more good news awaiting Barcelona fans as other promising youngsters are also waiting for their moment to make the big jump in the future. One of the most prominent names in this line is Noah Darvich, who joined Barcelona last summer and is currently a substitute at Barcelona Atletic.
Darvich is being followed closely by Xavi and the Blaugrana head coach has already called him up for several training sessions with the first team. Currently, he is with the Germany U-17 squad and will play in the U-17 World Cup final between Germany and France this Saturday. Up to now, he has been one of the stars of the tournament, having given four assists and scored one goal.
As SPORT has reported, the youngster appeared in an interview with the FIFA website, in which he talked about different aspects of his life at Barcelona. The youngster was sure that the move to Barcelona has helped him become a more mature player:
“I think so because it’s something completely new. I’m living alone for the first time, and being away from home at first is difficult, but I believe it’s getting better every week, and that’s why I’m satisfied.”
Darvich also named one of the biggest Barcelona legends as his idol and identified some aspects that he shares with him:
“Messi has always been my idol because he’s an incredible player and because he has a very good left foot like me. I would say that’s why I follow him a lot.”
The youngster is also a captain with the U-17 German team, and thus is already developing the leadership skills that will make him a truly influential player in the future. On his life as a captain, the youngster commented:
“I try to be myself. I try to talk a lot with the players, but always staying myself and not pretending to be more: I try to help those who may need it.”
