It is not uncommon for FC Barcelona to find solutions to their problems from within their quarry. In the past, the Catalan club has been saved many times by the sheer quality and quantity of players from their own youth system. Fortunately for Barcelona, there is more where that came from.

Even today, many aspiring young talents hope to catch the eyes of their senior coaches so that they can embark on their own unique journey to stardom. However, impressing at the youth level and standing out from among many of the world’s finest youngsters is hardly an easy task.

Despite the difficulty of this progression, however, a young 18-year-old Barcelona midfielder believes he has what it takes to do so. Pau Prim, one of the very brightest young talents within La Masia and the subsidiary, now believes it is his time to shine.

As highlighted by SPORT, the youngster believes that he has not been given the same attention as other talents from his generation. The likes of Pau Cubarsi, Hector Fort, the sensation that is Lamine Yamal, and even Marc Bernal are players he believes have overtaken him in the eyes of Barcelona.

That is why, starting next season, Prim hopes to show that he possesses that same excellence as well. Now that Marc Casado will likely remain with the first team, the 18-year-old Pau Prim expects to have more prominence within Barcelona Atletic under Rafa Marquez.

Hailed as the ‘best midfielder at La Masia’, according to SPORT, the player has the desire to prove that he has earned that reputation. However, to do that he must overcome challenges from teammates, such as the competition he will likely face from Marc Bernal.

He believes that his unique qualities give him different strengths to those of Bernal, and SPORT highlights this. Whereas Marc Bernal is a more physical player with more dynamism to his game, Prim is a technical genius and plays as a much more natural defensive midfielder as compared to the more dynamic Bernal.

However, he only has a contract until 2025, and Pau Prim knows the conditions that will need to be met for him to renew. Having alternated between Juvenil A and Barça Atletic last season, he hopes to see some show of faith from Barcelona as well in his abilities for him to stay with the club.

Having been with Barcelona since his early days, the player has not known the colors of any other club. His dream is to succeed at the club of his dreams, and that is why he is willing to give his all to make a name for himself with the Catalan giants.
