18-year-old Brazilian star’s agent to mediate talks to bring player to Barcelona this summer

Barcelona new signing Vitor Roque

FC Barcelona are currently faced with the dilemma of having to recruit in the offensive regions of the team following the imminent departure of French winger Ousmane Dembele to Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.

As a result, Barcelona looked at several alternative options to reinforce the team during this ongoing summer transfer window and the most logical approach that the Catalan Directors and higher-ups managed to come up with was that of accelerating the arrival of Brazilian gem Vitor Roque.

Currently with his club Athletico Paranaense in Brazil, the South American outfit has recently lost their knockout tie in the Copa Libertadores on penalties to Bolivar and has thus been eliminated from the competition which has prompted Barcelona to attempt to bring in the 18-year-old this summer rather than sometime in January.

As a result, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the player’s agent Andre Curry has already traveled to Brazil in order to mediate negotiations that would see Barcelona attempt to convince Athletico Paranaense to let go of their star this summer rather than have Barcelona wait until January or the summer of next year.

The agreed fee for the player was finalized as a package that would include €30 million as a fixed fee and a further €31 million in variables, which include both easily attainable ones as well as others that have more complicated objectives to fulfill.

The CEO of Athletico Paranaense has previously come forward to explain that the Brazilian outfit intends to keep Roque in South America until January.

The Brazilian club’s priority objectives extend beyond the current Copa Libertadores elimination, as they continue to compete in their domestic league and prepare for the upcoming qualifications for the next iteration of the Copa Libertadores.

At the moment, the Catalan club remains convinced that the player himself would also look forward to the opportunity and the agent himself is also willing to try his best in order to best facilitate negotiations between FC Barcelona and Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense.

Barcelona will continue to push for the player’s arrival this summer as they believe they are financially able to accommodate his integration within the team and make him a signing that Xavi Hernandez would have at his disposal this season to be better equipped to face the upcoming challenges for FC Barcelona.
