FC Barcelona are set to take on Athletic Bilbao at the Montjuic later today but are yet to register Dani Olmo for La Liga. Despite being quite active with respect to exits throughout this week, they still have not done enough.
Last night, Fabrizio Romano gave the ‘here we go’ for Clement Lenglet’s exit to Atletico Madrid on loan. This should really help the club with registrations as the Frenchman is one of the highest earners at FC Barcelona.
One more exit that the club is closing on is that of Vitor Roque. As per reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old Barcelona forward is closing in on a loan move to Real Betis with the details yet to be revealed.
Roque has been in Barcelona only for around six months now and he has already fallen out of favor under two managers – Xavi Hernandez and Hansi Flick. He is now set to leave the club in search of regular game time.
The exit of Marc Guiu this summer was expected to offer Roque the chance to stake a claim to be Robert Lewandowski’s backup for the season. Instead, Pau Victor emerged out of nowhere and took his spot in the first team.
One of the biggest talents coming out of Brazil, it’s a shame that Roque’s career hasn’t panned out as one would envision. However, he is still a teenager and a loan move to Real Betis in the Spanish top-flight should do him the world of good.
Who knows, if Roque settles in Spain and impresses for Manuel Pellegrini’s team, he might have a future at FC Barcelona after all. Robert Lewandowski is ageing after all and the Brazilian forward could end up being a striker for the club in the future.
