In top European clubs like FC Barcelona, where player selection often remains competitive, players can begin to feel either mistreated or unhappy with the roles they are being offered within their respective clubs, particularly after the introduction of new star arrivals or simply losing their place within the starting eleven.
One player at FC Barcelona reportedly had felt something similar as prior to this summer transfer window, he remained an undisputed starter within this Barcelona team of Xavi Hernandez’s.
Now, with the arrival of Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan and former Girona midfielder Oriol Romeu as a direct replacement for Sergio Busquets, 19-year-old Pablo Gavi has seemingly lost his significance within the starting eleven for FC Barcelona and there were several reports indicating he was unhappy with his current role.
However, in light of these very rumors of the player being unhappy with FC Barcelona, the 19-year-old looked to Instagram where he posted a story that was essentially a video showing his left-footed goal against Mallorca near the end of the 2022/2023 season around May.
Accompanied with the goal were two heart emojis representing the blue and red colors of FC Barcelona, a clear indication from the player that his intentions would be to stay and fight for the club of his life rather than give up simply because he’s currently fallen down the pecking order.
Whether he has lost his role as an undisputed starter or not, Gavi must remain aware that he remains one of the key future pieces of this club and the 19-year-old will undoubtedly have a major role to play at Barcelona when his time comes.
