The dedication that players of FC Barcelona hold towards their Blaugrana club, particularly the players who have been developed within the club, is often expressed openly in front of millions as they either kiss their club’s badge or channel their love for the fans with other gestures as well.

However, players sometimes end up expressing things or showcasing particularly devoted actions towards their club behind the scenes. One such incident has recently been captured and is now made public through the new Amazon season for the Catalan club titled “FC Barcelona: A New Era.”

According to the incident, as extracted from the series by Spanish outlet SPORT, when 19-year-old Pablo Gavi was supposed to publicly express his gratitude for having won the Kopa Trophy in front of the crowd present at the Ballon D’or ceremony, an unexpected phrase caught many by surprise from an incidence that is slowly becoming viral.

Talking to one of the press officers, Gavi was heard asking if he could end his victory speech by saying ‘Forca Barca’, to which the press team official replied suggesting it’s better to end on a neutral note and not end up saying that.

Gavi:When I finish I can say, ‘Força Barça, right?

Press Team Official:It’s better that you don’t do it.

Moreover, Gavi continued to probe even further if he could say it in a different manner, such as ‘Visca El Barca’, which was also quickly advised against by the press team official.

Gavi:And what if I say ‘Visca El Barca’?

Press Team Official:No, better to not.

However, what followed up was a perfect embodiment of the kind of abrupt and impulsive nature that the 19-year-old Kopa Trophy winner has.

Once he was finally called upon stage to take his award at the Ballon D’or ceremony in October of 2022, the player ended up concluding his speech with the exact phrase that he was previously advised not to use, stating:

“Thank you very much and Visca Barça.”
