Barcelona youngster Estanis Pedrola

19-years-old Barcelona youngster continues to impress with his goalscoring form

Barcelona have been renowned for producing some of the very best talents that Europe has gotten to witness over the past years. As of late, they have continued in this fashion and produced some absolute world-beaters and prodigious talents. An emerging name as of now, Estanis Pedrola from the subsidiary may just be the next in line.

The 19-year-old winger has been in sensational form this season. His goalscoring numbers and the subsequent ratio has been alarmingly impressive, so much so that it manages to peak even Xavi Hernandez’s interest as per the reports of Mundo Deportivo. Pedrola has thus far scored 7 times for Barca Atletic in the league, and has done so in a mere 14 games.

The Barcelona academy product averages a goal every 64 minutes and edges out all others in his age group. His closest competitor in terms of goals is Victor Barbera, who himself has scored 8 goals this season in the league, one more so than Estanis Pedrola. However, the striker has done so in 23 games, while the winger has done so in 14, showcasing exactly how mind-boggling his statistics are.

Moreover, the player has done so while being deployed as a winger rather than as a focal striker, making his tally more and more impressive as the details are assessed. This rejuvenated form following an injury that kept him out for multiple months has helped Barca Atletic keep themselves afloat in the “play-off zone” as he continues to flourish.

The 19-year-old has also been regularly called up by Xavi to train with the first team and the youngster has been publicly thankful for the opportunity, stating that:

“I am very grateful for the training I do with the first team and with the opportunities, they give me. When I go up, they correct details and I appreciate it”.

His Barcelona debut also happened under Xavi’s tutelage, who gave the youngster a call-up against Mallorca in Barcelona’s 1-0 victory away from home last season in the 2021/2022 La Liga campaign. He came on as a substitute for Ilias Akhomach in the last 10 minutes of that game. The player has had regular training sessions since with the first team and seems destined to be a much more integral cog in Xavi’s plans for the future.
