FC Barcelona remains a team brimming with excellent quality within all its positions, and competition remains as fierce as ever. As a result, while many rotations may take place from within the first-team squad, it becomes highly unlikely for young talents to be given a chance all the time.

Consequently, talented stars who need game time are often sent out on loan to better hone their talents in a surrounding where they are given bigger responsibilities. This was the case of 20-year-old winger Estanis Pedrola, who is currently plying his trade for Serie B side Sampdoria in Italy.

According to the latest insight provided on his journey thus far by Mundo Deportivo, things look quite promising. The 20-year-old has just scored his third goal for his team in six games, with the most recent goal being a particularly classy one against Andrea Pirlo’s Parma side that helped Sampdoria take away a point from a game that ended 1-1.

As per the description by MD, Pedrola scored a proper winger’s goal. Cutting in from the left wing onto his right, and then striking a composed shot with his preferred right foot. The versatile forward is enjoying a great run of form with Sampdoria on his current loan deal with them.

All three of his goals have been impactful this season in the Serie B from separate perspectives. His first came in a 2-1 loss to Venezia as his side’s only goal, while both his next two goals, the recent one against Parma and one against Cremonese, ensured that Sampdoria walked away with a point at least from both outings.

The Barcelona winger, for now, remains contracted to Sampdoria for this season until June of 2024. However, the Italian side has revealed alongside their official announcement following the player’s arrival that there exists a mandatory buy option worth €3 million for the 20-year-old.

On the contrary, Barcelona themselves have described the buy option as conditional rather than indefinitely mandatory. It will be interesting to see how the future of Estanis Pedrola pans out, given that he was one of the most promising names within the Barcelona Atletic set-up and could even have featured for the first team sometime in the future potentially.
