FC Barcelona have had their first win of the USA pre-season tour, and what a win it was! After the defeat to Arsenal, the Catalans played a good game in this match, and came out victorious against one of the best teams in Europe.
One of the unlikely heroes for FC Barcelona in this match was the youngster, Fermin Lopez. The 20-year-old scored a thunderous goal to double Barcelona’s lead and then went on to create another goal which was scored by Ferran Torres to end the match 3-0.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the player talked to the media after the match, in which his excitement from this performance was clear to see. He disclosed that “I am living a dream. I can’t believe what has happened. Xavi and the rest have congratulated me.”
Lopez scored an amazing goal in the final ten minutes of the match and the youngster would definitely go on to remember this goal for the rest of his life. Talking about the goal, the youngster commented:
“I am happy for the work the team has done. I took the ball, saw the goal, and went for it. I shot it with all my heart, and it went in. I thought about the tough times, those who have supported me through difficult times, and my hometown. I dedicate my goal to all of them.”
Fermin Lopez has been with FC Barcelona since he was a 13-year-old child in 2016. He also confessed during this media that “I’ve been culé since I was a child”, and the player will be looking forward to gaining more prominence at Barcelona in the coming years.
Lopez made his debut for the senior Barcelona side in the last match against Arsenal, but it is the second match that he will probably relish the most in the coming days and months, with the amazing goal and the assist against Barcelona’s fiercest rivals.
