Over the last few years, several youngsters from La Masia have made their way to the FC Barcelona first-team, and have gone on to remain important members of the Blaugrana squad.

This is the case for the likes of Alejandro Balde and Gavi, who have been playing at the highest level for some time now. Similarly, Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, and Fermin Lopez also emerged as first-team players last season, and the former two are now integral parts of Hansi Flick’s team.

This season, it was Marc Bernal who first made the jump, as Flick decided to bet on the academy talent in the absence of any big signings for the midfield pivot position. However, the youngster unluckily suffered a long-term injury, which will keep him out of action for the rest of the season.

This situation opened the doors for Marc Casado to the first team, and he is the player who has clearly made the biggest jump in the Blaugrana squad this season. He has already accumulated 13 starts with Barcelona this season and has also been called up for the Spanish national team for the first time in his career.

This rapid growth of his importance in the team has also been accompanied by an amazing increase in his value, as SPORT notes that the youngster’s valuation has increased a hundred times in the last two years.

In October 2022, just before he made his debut with the first team, his value stood at €150,000. After he made his debut in the UEFA Champions League, his value jumped to €250,000.

The midfielder was called up several times by Xavi last season to train under him, but he only made four appearances, amounting to 35 minutes on the pitch, and he closed 2023 with a value of €600,000, especially because he was a captain and a key player for Barcelona Atletic.

In March 2024, his value reached €1.5 million, while it increased to €2.5 million in the summer. The last valuation update at Transfermarkt took place on October 11, and since then, the Barcelona midfielder has been valued at €15 million.

However, since that time, he has played three incredible games against the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Espanyol, recording an assist in each of these matches.

Furthermore, he has also got his first senior Spain team call-up, while a possible debut can lead his value to increase further in the next update.
