The October International break is about to arrive and FC Barcelona have only one match, against Alaves, left to play before the players leave for their respective national teams. Barcelona will be looking to go into this break with another win, as several of their players will be away from the club for the next two weeks.

As already reported, Spain have already announced their squad for their two matches in this break. The main talking point from Spain’s list was the inclusion of Pau Cubarsi, who returns to the national team squad after quite some time.

Other players like Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and Ferran Torres were also named in this list, while others like Inigo Martinez, Alejandro Balde, and Marc Casado had missed out on this list.

However, this does not mean that all of these players will remain with Barcelona. This is especially true for Marc Casadó, who has been named in Spain’s U-21 squad for their upcoming fixtures during the international break, as reported by SPORT.

Marc Casadó returns to the Spanish national setup after five years, as he joins the U-21 squad for their upcoming matches against Kazakhstan and Malta. His last appearance for Spain was with the U-17 team.

Another Barcelona midfielder, Pablo Torre, remains part of the squad after also having played for Santi Denia in the last break. However, the notable absence of Fermin López stands out, as he continues to recover from injury. Fermin was called up for the U-21 side in the September break.

These two matches are crucial, as they could determine the U-21 team’s qualification for the 2025 European Championship. As a result, this will be a good learning opportunity for Casadó as might play with significant competitive pressure in a team vastly different than Barcelona.

The games are scheduled for October 10th against Kazakhstan and October 15th against Malta.
