The transfer window works in mysterious ways at times, with offers seemingly piling in for players FC Barcelona themselves don’t primarily wish to sell rather than others they do. As per the latest reports, a certain winger from the Catalan club is attracting a lot of attention from elsewhere.
As per news from the reliable Catalan journalist Gerard Romero, Moroccan international Ezzalzouli Abde has been attracting some heavy interest from top clubs. 21 years of age at this point in time, the left winger has made the very best of his loan move this season at CA Osasuna, he is expected to return to Barcelona to do the pre-season with the first team
During his time with Osasuna, he has scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists in 31 appearances across all competitions, but his value to the team exists even beyond just direct goal contributions.
Ball progression and ball carrying have become some of the Moroccan’s specialties with his reliable dribbling and a key development in particular since his growth at Osasuna, his defensive work rate. The latter has made him into a much more complete player who also now possesses the nuisance of being a defensive headache for opposition sides when they regain possession.
According to Romero, the primary interest comes from two clubs for Abde. One of the interested clubs is situated right there in Spain and competes in La Liga, the Spanish first division. The other club is reportedly one that is outside of La Liga, meaning potentially completely foreign soil to Abde and something he has no prior experience of.
FC Barcelona reportedly want Abde to return as soon as his loan move end, which occurred in the first place so that the club could assure a potential like Abde’s does not go to waste for lack of game time and it has paid off extravagantly, and then be tested out by Xavi Hernandez with the rest of his updated squad in the pre-season games.
As it stands, the Catalans primarily do not wish to sell off Abde as they believe he has enough equality to help out Xavi’s side. Still, given the club’s rather vulnerable financial circumstances, if a substantial enough offer does arrive for the Moroccan, the club may just look to consider that alternative.
