Among the many great dilemmas at FC Barcelona during the course of the ongoing summer transfer window, reinforcing specific positions remained a crucial task amongst them.
The departures of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba left the club sorely needing alternatives in the positions they had occupied expertly for so many years. The case of Alba was pretty straightforward as Barcelona could already rely on the services of both Alejandro Balde and Marcos Alonso.
On the other hand, the position of the pivot was one that required much more attention. However, Barcelona even managed to curb that lack of a specialist by confirming the arrival of Girona midfielder, Oriol Romeu.
However, the club is still left without a specialist in one particular position, that of the right-back. In this specific position, Barcelona currently possess no specialist of particular pedigree and the only two acknowledgeable players present are Sergino Dest and Julian Araujo, both of whom remain truly untested in Europe to a degree.
And yet, it appears now that the latter will indeed be making his way to play football in the top Spanish division after all, just not for FC Barcelona.
As per the ever-reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old Mexican right-back has found an agreement with La Liga outfit Las Palmas to make a one-year move on loan away from FC Barcelona before returning to his parent club.
A target for Las Palmas since June according to Romano, the player is now finally expected to make his way to the side led by Garcia Pimienta, a man who has himself been associated with Barcelona since many years.
The move could prove to be instrumental for the development of the 21-year-old as he finally gets a possibility of achieving regular minutes in a top Spanish side and develop more than he may get a chance to at FC Barcelona.
