Fermin Lopez is one of the players representing FC Barcelona in the Paris Olympic Games 2024 as he is a part of the Spanish football team squad. The midfielder went to the Olympics straight after winning the UEFA EURO 2024 with Spain and thus has not yet taken any holidays.
Thus, Fermin had a very strenuous last year, as he played a significant number of games for Barcelona as well. Although he did not feature for Spain much in the UEFA EURO, one can still expect him to be looking to rest for a while before the next season starts.
However, the player himself is not looking for a long rest before rejoining the Barcelona team under the new coach. He himself made this clear as he appeared in an interview which has been reported by SPORT.
Regarding his plans after the conclusion of the Olympic Games, the midfielder said:
“When the Games are over, I will take a few days off, but not many because I want to start working with Flick and the team soon. I am very motivated for the new season. It’s very exciting, and I hope to continue helping the club in this new term.”
One can understand why Fermin is so keen to return to training with Barcelona, despite having played both in the UEFA EURO 2024 and the Paris Olympic Games.
Hansi Flick has now trained the available players for some time now, and the currently underway preseason will shape a lot of the German coach’s preferences for the next season.
After having obtained an important role in the team with his performances in last year’s preseason under Xavi, Fermin Lopez would not want to miss out on the opportunity to impress the new coach and retain his position in the squad for the upcoming season.
