FC Barcelona had several players out on loan in the 2022-23 season, but none shone as brightly as Ez Abde. The Moroccan spent the last season on loan at Osasuna, where he was one of the key components of the squad which went on to the final of the Copa del Rey.
The player made twenty league appearances with Osasuna, in which he scored four goals. Furthermore, he also made appearances in the Copa del Rey, scoring two goals in this tournament.
With such performances, the player has attracted the interest of top clubs across Europe, with La Liga side Real Betis one of the most strongly linked with the player. Similarly, other teams from Bundesliga and the Premier League have also been interested in the winger, with the Italian side Juventus being the latest one to be linked with him.
However, Mundo Deportivo reports that Abde is not considering any of these offers and interests at the moment, as he wants to succeed only at FC Barcelona. For this purpose, the player is keen to take advantage of any opportunity that the current pre-season offers him.
The player’s motivation is clearly on display as the player has decided to return early from his vacation for training with the club. Abde had at least two weeks of vacation afforded to him by Barcelona, but the player would join the training camp along with the rest of the internationals on Monday, three days before the team sets out for USA.
Abde was the only player on loan last season that the club is contemplating having in the squad for next season, and Xavi also likes the player. The winger will have opportunities to further impress the gaffer in the United States tour.
However, one area of concern for the Moroccan is that neither Fati nor Torres is willing to leave the club, making the forward spots in the team much more competitive. Furthermore, the financial conditions can force the club’s hand if an alluring offer for Abde comes in, as he had cost Barcelona only €2 million, and any surplus received on this amount will be a profit for the club.
