When asked about his future at FC Barcelona, the fullback commented that he is “I am completely focused on working every day, and in my mind, staying and enjoying a beautiful season at Barça is what matters. It depends on me, and I can do it”.
The player also revealed a conversation that he had with Xavi. Recalling this conversation, Dest disclosed that “He [Xavi] told me that I start from scratch, and I agree that I have to showcase my abilities. Everyone starts from scratch, and I know I’m a little behind, but I’m confident that I will work hard and give my best for the team. I will try to do it as well as I can”.
Dest understands the importance of this phase of his career for his future, and in this regard, he remarked that “It’s a tough moment in my career, and in this situation, you can take two paths: be negative or think positively, and I’m always one to have a positive mindset to work and change things”.
Barcelona’s tour to the USA takes off this Saturday, in which the Catalan club will face off against other elite European clubs like Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Juventus.
