It is becoming a rather repetitive theme at Barcelona to see players get injured in important stretches of any given season. Such are the demands of the footballing calendar, and these demands are kind to no one it seems. Unfortunately for Hansi Flick and Barcelona, that limits their chances to rotate the team.

In a rather frustrating cycle, no rotations often mean that more players end up getting fatigued or injured. To prevent that at the moment, the help of a lot of La Masia talents has been taken by the German coach, but he would ideally like to see his currently sidelined players return as soon as possible.

While Ronald Araujo is currently working to recover as soon as possible, and possible return dates for him have been reported as well, there is another defender who could potentially end up returning before him as soon as the international break concludes it seems.

According to Mundo Deportivo, 23-year-old Spanish defender Eric Garcia is already back on the grass in terms of his recovery and he has resumed more intense training as he looks to return to action soon. Potentially, he could even be back in time for the game against Celta Vigo.

Garcia was last seen in action for Barcelona during the warm-up for the game against Sevilla. While he was originally set to start in that game, a problem occurred during the pre-match warm-up and it led to the player being sidelined and he has been away from action ever since.

His return, however, is something that Hansi Flick will reportedly look at positively. That is because these last few months have been quite taxing for Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi, who have only had the occasional help from Sergi Dominguez in terms of rotations so far.

So until Ronald Araujo or Andreas Christensen return, it seems that Eric Garcia could prove to be a great utility player who can be made use of as both a centre-back and also as a defensive midfielder. His exact return date remains unclear for now, but he looks to be aiming for the match against Celta as per MD.
