The clash against Royal Antwerp was a great demonstration by FC Barcelona of what the Catalan giants are capable of. A liberating 5-0 thrashing of the Belgian side saw Barcelona climb to the top of their group in the UEFA Champions League for the time being.

Among the many protagonists that were involved in the Champions League clash for Barcelona, one particular player stood out the most as the game’s MVP. Of course, the player in question is none other than 23-year-old star Joao Felix.

The Atletico Madrid loanee was an absolute joy to behold for Barcelona. Scoring two great goals and providing a sublime assist to Robert Lewandowski, the Portuguese star was involved directly in three out of the five goals Barcelona managed to score on the night and was quite influential even beyond that.

Following the game, as highlighted by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the player talked to Moviestar+ about his experience thus far with Barcelona and analyzed his latest performance for La Blaugrana at the European stage. He replied joyfully and even commented that his goal is to bring further happiness to fans of Barcelona as well.

“We all played a great game, very consistent. I’m very happy about the win. I’m happy, enjoying myself. My teammates helped me a lot. I couldn’t do anything alone. I’m here to help them too, just as they help me. We’re trying to bring joy to the club and the fans.”

However, Felix also acknowledged that just because Barcelona won on their very first European encounter, it does not mean that they get complacent. Stating that it is still only the first game and reaching the summit once is not the main objective, but continuing those performances is rather the primary goal.

“The difficult part now is to maintain this level because I’m starting well. The team is doing very well, and we need to sustain it. Being at the top is not the hardest part. We all need to work to keep it going.”

With his performance against Antwerp, Felix has now scored three goals in total for Barcelona across all competitions and even provided one assist across three games during which he has played 142 minutes in total for La Blaugrana thus far this season.
