26-year-old Barcelona midfielder garnering interest from Inter Milan

Despite having a successful domestic season, FC Barcelona have to make some changes in their squad for the next season. These changes are required not only to strengthen the weak areas in the team but also to allow the club to solve their Financial Fair Play problems.

One player who can be significantly impacted by these Financial Fair Play rules is Franck Kessie. The player arrived at the Catalan club only last summer, as a free transfer from the Scudetto-winning AC Milan team.

While his playing style and technique is not entirely in line with Xavi’s ideas of an ideal team, he still got significant game time in the last few months, primarily because some of the starting midfielders like Busquets, De Jong, and Pedri had to miss games due to injury.

Kessie’s performances in some of these games were impressive, and he also helped the team by scoring some crucial goals. However, as the injured first-team players have recovered from their injuries, his time on the pitch is expected to get significantly affected.

As he is not an integral part of the club’s midfield, FC Barcelona are considering selling him in the next transfer window, in order to generate a quick profit and inject some much-needed cash into the club.

While some Premier League sides have also shown an interest in him, most of the interest for the player has come from Italy. Inter Milan and Juventus have previously been linked with the player and Toni Juanmarti’s latest report claims that Inter Milan is still interested in the midfielder.

However, the player wants to remain at the club and is not willing to leave. On the other hand, a transfer for Kessie would be highly appealing for the club, as he came to the club without any transfer fee, and the entire fee that Barcelona receives from such a transfer would be a profit for the club.
