Most of FC Barcelona first-team players are currently away from the Catalan club as they are performing their national team duties. These players will remain absent from club duties for a further few days, and come back once they have played this round of international matches by the coming midweek.
One of these players who is currently with his national team squad is the Brazilian Raphinha. The Brazilian has not been in the best of forms since the start of the season, and this international break provides him with a good opportunity to rediscover his form.
Raphinha scores and assists for Brazil
As SPORT has mentioned, Raphinha has taken full advantage of this opportunity, as he shone with his national side Brazil, as they faced Bolivia. The match ended 5-1 in Brazil’s favour, and Raphinha made some important contributions towards the Selecao Canarinha’s victory.
Raphinha contributed directly to two goals, scoring one himself, and giving another assist to Neymar. He started the match under the new Brazil coach, Diniz, who put Raphinha on the right side of his team’s attack, which is the Barcelona forward’s best position.
He contributed to the first goal, as a rebound from his shot was converted into a goal by the Real Madrid youngster, Rodrygo Goes. In the second half, Raphinha scored a goal of his own and also gave an assist to Neymar for the final goal of the game. Thus, he stood out in this game, alongside the former Barcelona star, Neymar, and Rodrygo Goes.
Regaining his form
This performance in a Brazil shirt was a welcome change from how Raphinha has been performing at Barcelona. He started the first match against Getafe but got a red card in this game and was suspended for the two ensuing games.
He returned to action against Osasuna, but in this match, he was overlooked by Xavi, who started Yamal, and Raphinha came only for the last minutes of the match. With this good performance, Barcelona fans will be hoping that Raphinha has regained his form, as he is one of the integral parts in Xavi’s setup.
