26-year-old Brazilian winger deemed non-transferable by Barcelona – report

Barcelona winger Raphinha

Barcelona were always aware of the economic limitations that were attached to them heading into the summer transfer window of 2023, with it being an obvious concern if the Catalan club would be able to manage their exits while continuing to ensure top-level arrivals.

Thus far, without a doubt, Barcelona have been quite successful in managing expectations as they have already brought in several additions to the squad while also letting go of several players to balance out their books.

However, for Barcelona to truly have access to disposable funds that are adequate enough to pursue another top-level operation within the final 15 days of the transfer window, a sale operation of significant value must be executed.

One player that has been taken off the list of those that could be potentially sold for additional funds is Brazilian winger Raphinha, as per Spanish outlet SPORT. Following the departure of Ousmane Dembele, the 26-year-old Brazilian now becomes the undisputed starter under Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez.

The arrival of Deco and the opinion of Xavi both agree that the Brazilian winger will remain untouchable for the rest of the window and the only way that he would have been let go of was as a potentially crucial necessity, an extreme that Barcelona has thus far not had the need to address according to SPORT.

Despite a rather sizeable offer from Newcastle United having arrived for the services of the Brazilian this summer already, the player remained adamant on staying in Barcelona, and given Dembele’s departure on top of it, the Catalan club has no option but to have faith in their winger.

Apart from the former Leeds United winger, however, Barcelona continue to consider the sale of either one of Ansu Fati or Ferran Torres to generate funds in the final few days.

In terms of sporting hierarchy, the opening league game against Getafe painted a very brutal picture of both Ez Abde and 16-year-old Lamine Yamal being entrusted to turn the game around before either of Fati or Torres.

The case of Fati may be easier to finalize given that Barcelona believe the 20-year-old attracts more clubs and more lucrative offers than anything Ferran Torres could at the moment. As a result, it will definitely become an interesting final few days of the window in order to finalize Barca’s objectives and operations.
