The injuries at FC Barcelona have completely frustrated the club to a very extreme level. Throughout this season and even the previous ones, constant injuries have been a massive headache for the club. In fact, Barcelona have even struggled in terms of their primary objectives as a consequence of these injuries.
Moreover, with their financial restrictions, the club has been unable to add a lot of depth to the team as well. Only a few signings have arrived and the club ultimately had to be very strategic about where they invested their money and what kind of profile they brought in.
Ultimately, the club decided to bring in Dani Olmo and the €60 million-rated star has been sensational for the team so far. It would seem that their gamble with the Spanish star has paid off so far, and his performances have been more than satisfactory thus far with three goals in three games.
However, the player recently suffered an unfortunate injury that the official Barcelona sources confirmed was one to his hamstring and it will now keep him sidelined for 4-5 weeks moving forward. Yet, the latest report from a reliable source disputes the severity of his injury and confirms by when he should be back.
According to Toni Juanmarti, the actual injury itself is not a severe one and is actually a minor injury. However, the journalist says that Barcelona have deliberately decided to take extra caution with the player’s fitness and health due to his rather long list of injury problems in the past and to avoid another issue.
That issue would be the upcoming international break in October, and that is a time period during which Barcelona would much rather keep the 26-year-old Spaniard back for. Instead, there is an expected return date provided by the journalist and that would be the game against Sevilla next month.
In turn, that would mean that Olmo’s participation for the games against Bayern Munich in the Champions League and against Real Madrid in La Liga are not under threat either. Fortunately, both are crucial games and having Dani Olmo back for them would be amazing news for Hansi Flick.
