Over at FC Barcelona, Hansi Flick’s team has managed to do well this season so far despite their various injury concerns. However, the ideal scenario for the German coach would be to have his best players available at his disposal at all times. Unfortunately, that has not been the case for Barcelona so far this season.
Yet, there is almost always enough talent at the club for Flick to find out the right structure for specific opponents. Even without Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen and other notable absentees, Flick’s Barcelona managed to dismantle even the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Moving forward, however, the club has been given a taste of defeat at the ends of Real Sociedad. That particular loss right before the international break clearly made it obvious to the club that not having their best players available can have its downsides as well.
Fortunately, as highlighted by SPORT, one of Barça’s most impressive players this season will be completely rested and fully fit to play right after the international break. That player would be none other than Dani Olmo, who is now expected to start against Celta Vigo in the first game after the international break.
The 26-year-old Spanish star, after playing against Denmark for around 70 minutes, was rested by Luis de la Fuente for the game against Switzerland completely. For Barcelona, this comes as great news as it both helped the player avoid injury and now allows him to return to the club fully rested and freshened up.
Moreover, with Lamine Yamal looking unlikely to start against Celta Vigo and Robert Lewandowski still recovering from a back issue, Barcelona are rather restricted in terms of attacking options. Ansu Fati is also injured, meaning that there are not many secondary options either.
Thanks to his versatility, however, Olmo can be deployed both as a left-winger or as a central attacking midfielder, depending on what Hansi Flick requires out of him. Alongside Raphinha, he seems to be a guaranteed starter for Barcelona right now.
However, if Lewandowski ultimately does not manage to come back into the starting eleven in time for the Celta Vigo clash, Olmo could end up being joined by Pau Victor in the line-up. The other Spaniard has not been given too many opportunities this season, but he remains keen on proving his worth as well.
Congratulation to Dani olmo good news
