Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele

26-year-old winger expected to return to Barcelona training amidst delayed PSG transfer

FC Barcelona continue to deal with and finalize various departures from the Catalan club as they sort out their finances while simultaneously keeping an eye out on the sporting replacements they may need to remain competitive next season.

In recent news however, French winger Ousmane Dembele’s transfer to Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-German is taking longer than expected as Barcelona continue to delay progress by taking their time in the finalization of the documents.

Moreover, while Barcelona tend to the technical aspects of the transfer, the French winger is expected to return to training at his Catalan club who he remains contracted to until 2024 and as such is expected to continue training and partaking in various activities within the club as per Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Simultaneously, Barcelona will continue talks with his agent to sort out the financial aspect of his transfer as the Catalan club believe the player and his agent are not exactly eligible to acquire 50% of the release clause that PSG pays while the agent continues to argue the exact opposite.

Barcelona also seem to be considering the possibility of prolonging the transfer as long as they can in light of them being legally entitled to do so and the Catalans as a result wish to do so until the 21st of August, which would leave around 10 days more in the transfer window as well as Ligue 1 already having kicked off on the 12th of the same month.

As a result, it would not be a surprise to see FC Barcelona and Dembele’s saga take longer to conclude than was previously expected and the player will simultaneously be present at the training sessions of Barcelona under the guidance of Xavi Hernandez until the situation is sorted out.
