The month of August is a crucial one for FC Barcelona in this summer transfer window of 2023, as the Catalan club will look to finalize as many operations as possible in this final month of the window itself.
On one hand, the delayed exit of French winger Ousmane Dembele will take place at some point this month in what is almost a guaranteed exit as well as the departures of both Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie and French defender Clement Lenglet also to be concluded.
However, the primary objective for FC Barcelona remains the sole arrival of Manchester City midfielder and Portuguese National team star Bernardo Silva, for whom the negotiation process will be one of the biggest hurdles for Barcelona this summer.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Bernardo Silva remains adamant that he would be willing to push for an exit if Barcelona themselves can put a strong, formal offer on the table despite the reluctance of Man City to negotiate for his departure.
The player would be willing to converse with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who reportedly gave his word to the Portuguese Barcelona target that if a substantial offer came for him, the club will allow the player to leave and not stand in his way.
The 28-year-old continues to be lured by the appeal of both FC Barcelona itself and the prospect of living in the city and playing in La Liga. While he remains more than comfortable in Manchester at the moment, it was not always this easy for him in England.
Having won the historic continental treble with the Citizens last season, the player looks for a change of scenery as he has been over the last 2 seasons as per speculation.
However, he wishes for Barcelona to move fast if they genuinely wish to guarantee his arrival. The player will not wait too long as he still hopes to give Manchester City enough time to find a replacement as he still holds his current club in high regard and wishes the best for them.
Now, if the option of Barcelona does not materialize, the player will be willing to negotiate with Manchester City, who reportedly are looking to offer him a much-improved renewal deal at the English club and something that the 28-year-old had not been contemplating up until now.
