FC Barcelona have been riddled with financial difficulties in recent times, difficulties that have restricted the Catalans quite severely in terms of their ability to compete in transfer windows and pursue players that in a normal economic state they could pursue without any hindrance.

Barcelona continue to consequently ponder several exits to ensure economic restructuring progresses as ideally as possible. Among them, the names of Clement Lenglet, Franck Kessie, and possibly the likes of Ez Abde could be included, but one name that is heavily speculated to be on the exit ramp is that of Ferran Torres.

As per information provided by Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona believe the best possible option to offload the ex-Manchester City man would be to send the forward out on a loan with a purchase option attached to it.

Having arrived from Manchester City for a fee of around €55 million, Barcelona are still in agreement to pay off a major portion of that amount that is left in amortizations. To ensure they did not end up recording a financial loss in his purchase, they would have to sell him for €40 million or more.

Since at the moment a direct sale is not being contemplated, the Catalans believe there are still several huge reasonings behind why the Spaniard should leave.

He will undoubtedly receive very limited playing time in the upcoming season, even less than the previous one. Xavi considers him to be way down in the pecking order for his most reliable forwards, and thus it would be better for Ferran to establish himself elsewhere where he can actually showcase his talents.

The player himself remains adamant on staying at Barcelona despite these differences however, and believes that by staying and impressing during the upcoming pre-season, he can convince Xavi Hernandez that he would be a valuable asset for FC Barcelona.

Barcelona, on the other hand, believe that there is strong interest in the player from clubs in Spain, Germany, Italy, and England, and consider that conveying the message to the player is something that Xavi Hernandez would look to do and the higher-ups at the club believe the coach needs to step up in this situation.
