The financial situation at FC Barcelona has been far from ideal in the last few years, and despite making some improvements in this regard, the Catalans still urgently need funds to strengthen their squad further and meet their FFP obligations.

For this purpose, the Blaugranes are aiming to sell the deadwood in their squad and also to make at least one big sale that would significantly boost their coffers. However, recent news indicates that the club can get some money through another third possible way.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Portuguese side Porto is interested in the former Barcelona academy graduate Juan Miranda. The left-back rose through the ranks at FC Barcelona but has been playing for Real Betis for the last two seasons. However, Barcelona still have 50% rights over any transfer fee that would be paid for the left-back.

Juan Miranda has kept up the levels of form that he displayed in his time at the Catalan club, and he was one of the best performers in the last European Under-21 Cup. In this tournament, the youngster represented Spain, who were the runners-up, and Miranda and his teammate Rodri were among the team of the tournament selected by UEFA.

Miranda has one year left on his Real Betis contract, which is set to expire in 2024. However, the Verdiblancos are aiming to extend this contract for a number of seasons, but talks are still ongoing for this purpose.

The left-back has become an important player for Real Betis ever since moving there and started 21 league games for them last season, in which he also scored two goals. Furthermore, he also had seven Europea League appearances and two Copa del Rey appearances, making him an important component of the Betis squad.

However, with only one year left on his contract, Porto may not have to pay a very high amount for his transfer. Still, Barcelona would be happy if such a transfer materializes as they would get half the fee, which they can utilize to further strengthen their own squad for the next season.
