FC Barcelona and Xavi are looking for more reinforcements in their squad after already having signed a number of players this summer. However, time is of the essence, as there are only around two weeks left till the summer transfer window closes.

Before Barcelona can begin an operation to bring in the attacking midfielder and right-back needed by the club, the Catalans will have to sell some of their players.

The club is looking to sell one or two attackers as the attacking line is currently saturated, with Raphinha, Torres, Abde, Fati, and Yamal all competing for a single spot.

Exit operations stagnating

As SPORT has reported, the operations for the departure of players from Barcelona are stagnating. Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres are two of the players whom the club is looking to sell this summer, but neither of these players is particularly open to a departure from the club.

The La Liga opening match against Getafe showed that neither of the two players is going to find much game time in the season ahead. However, still both the players want to stay at the club. Torres has still a more optimistic case currently, as Xavi considers him to be an alternative for Lewandowski till Vitor Roque arrives in January.

However, he will still only have a secondary role in the squad, and despite his good performances in the pre-season, it is unlikely that Xavi will consider him for a starting position in his lineup, where the head coach already has a number of options available.

Ansu Fati unwilling to leave Barcelona

The report further mentions that Ansu’s case is more worrying for Barcelona, as the youngster wants only to succeed at the Catalan club. The club tried to make Ansu a part of a swap deal for Ruben Neves, which would have seen the winger join the Premier League side, but Fati just could not be persuaded for a move.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, also tried to convince him to move to the Premier League, but Fati remained adamant that he wants to remain at Barcelona. Now with the rise of Lamine Yamal and the return of Ez Abde to Barcelona, Fati will find it even more difficult to get enough game time to continue his growth and development.

However, Barcelona only have a few days remaining to conclude these exits, as they also have to finalize the new arrivals at right-back and attacking midfield positions before the end of the summer transfer window.
