With around ten days left in the summer transfer window, FC Barcelona will have to fast-track the various transfer operations that they have currently underway. The club is looking to bring in at least two more players but will have to sell some of their own players to make space for the incoming transfers.

One of the players that Barcelona can sell for this purpose is the Spanish winger, Ferran Torres. The Spaniard arrived to Barcelona from Manchester City with much fanfare and expectations, but the player has been unable to perform up to his potential up to now, and his form has been hot and cold throughout his Barcelona career.

Ferran on Barcelona’s exit list

The right-back position is one of the weak spots in Barcelona’s squad currently and is the area that the club is currently aiming to strengthen. In addition to a right-back, the club has lately also been associated with the Atletico Madrid forward, Joao Felix.

However, to finalise these transfer, Barcelona need sufficient space on their wage bill. For this purpose, the Catalans have identified Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres as two of the players who can be sold to generate funds and lower their wage bill.

Xavi has a pretty saturated forward line currently, and even after the departure of Ousmane Dembele, there are multiple players competing for a single spot in the lineup, as Lewandowski is a fixed starter in a two-man forward line.

Torres unwilling to leave

However, as reported by SPORT, the Spaniard has been clear throughout the summer that he wants to stay at Barcelona and compete for a position in Xavi’s lineup. He showed good form during the preseason, and the fact that he did not play even one minute in the opening match of the league has not deterred him from fighting for a place in the club.

Meanwhile, Ansu Fati is also unwilling to leave, despite the best efforts of the club and his agent Jorge Mendes in convincing him to try his luck away from Barcelona.

Barcelona play against Cadiz on Sunday, and it remains to be seen whether Ferran will get his first minutes of the new season in this match, and continue with the form that he showed during the preseason.
