One step at a time, it is expected that FC Barcelona will finally get a deal over the line that the Catalan giants have long since been eagerly awaiting the finalization of. Supposed to be a great addition to the team at the right-back position, his arrival excites many within the Barcelona offices.

The player in question is none other than 29-year-old Manchester City star and Portuguese National team fullback Joao Cancelo, who has always remained the primary priority for Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez when it comes to reinforcing his side’s right-back position.

Now, as the days progress, various reports claim his signing will be concluded within this week on a loan deal that would originally be agreed upon having an option to buy at the end of its duration with a mandatory buy clause also being activated if certain scenarios are met.

In the most recent of updates provided by journalist Achraf Ben Ayad, the Portuguese star will have his medical examinations for FC Barcelona this coming Friday after which the wait will not be much longer before the player is officially announced as a new player for Xavi Hernandez to make use of for the 2023/2024 season.

The journalist previously also made his announcement that the player will without a doubt become a new FC Barcelona player and has now even given a date to his medical examinations, which falls in line with the information being provided by other sources as well in regards to the player’s expected arrival at the Catalan club.

Cancelo will undoubtedly provide Xavi Hernandez with a completely new outlet to deploy in his Barcelona side that brings both quality and experience alongside him given the elite levels he has been monitored to display over the past seasons.

Due to his fallout with his current side Manchester City, various clubs had wished to take advantage of his situation, but given the intentions of the player himself to become a Barcelona player no matter what, both the club and his agent Jorge Mendes have worked in collaboration to ensure his dream is made true regardless of the rather prolonged negotiations with Manchester City.
