It is no secret that the biggest of names in football dream of joining clubs like FC Barcelona and other top European clubs. This particular allure that the Catalan club still possesses has been instrumental in helping the club bring in top-level players despite their ongoing economic struggles.
The likes of Robert Lewandowski, Ilkay Gundogan, Joao Cancelo, and others have all been attracted by FC Barcelona due to the historic essence and pedigree of the Catalan club itself. Moreover, it seems it continues to attract even the younger generation coming up ahead.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, 22-year-old Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent Mamuka Jugeli recently made a statement that practically opened the door for a possible future move to either of FC Barcelona or Real Madrid. He stated, “When Kvara is ready to play for Real Madrid or FC Barcelona, it will be evaluated in the future.”
It understandably does not come as a shock given the hopes of most players to one day be able to represent the likes of either of the El Clasico rivals according to their respective preferences.
However, it is interesting to note that Serie A side Napoli is soon going to face off against Real Madrid in Group C of the UEFA Champions League this season.
Previously approached by Real Madrid, they did not consider it at the time. However, as per the agent’s own understanding and the player’s father being an avid FC Barcelona fan, it is true that the possibility of playing for the Catalan club is a real option for the Georgian winger.
For now, Kvaratskhelia and his entourage believe that Naples is the best home for the player given their strength at Napoli and the promise it shows, with the agent of the player stating:
“When there are players like Osimhen, Di Lorenzo, or Zielinski on the team, it means that it is strong, and that’s why we don’t think about leaving Napoli.”
Yet, the renewal for the player’s continuity at Napoli has still not been finalized in any way and the agent also emphasized on this topic when probed about it:
“There are no discussions for renewal; we are happy with the contract we have. The goal is to defend the Scudetto and go far in the Champions League. Kvara is delighted with the city and his teammates; I don’t know what the media writes, and I’m not interested.”
The UEFA Champions League remains a massive priority for many teams in Europe, and both Napoli and FC Barcelona have high expectations of themselves to do well in the competition with the quality available within their respective squads.
