It was surely not enough for FC Barcelona to just emerge victorious against Celta Vigo, the Catalan giants had to do it in style. After going down 2-0 by the 76th minute to an incredibly resilient side led by Rafa Benitez, La Blaugrana had their work cut out for them to complete a surreal comeback.

Despite the many great performances on the night that enabled Barcelona to make a comeback within 10 minutes and score three goals within that time frame, there were a few that stood out even then.

Perhaps one of the most evidently crucial performances was that of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski. Scoring two late goals for Barcelona, in the 81st and 85th minute respectively, the Blaugrana ace managed to bring the Catalan giants level with Real Betis.

The euphoria in the hearts of all those who support the Catalans was deeply felt, and Xavi’s men were then able to carry that momentum forward and ultimately win the game.

As a matter of fact, according to the statistics provided by Spanish outlet SPORT, Robert Lewandowski now becomes the joint top-scorer of the La Liga EA Sports 2023/24 campaign and has now scored a total of 5 goals in this league campaign while also providing 3 assists.

Previously thought to be declining due to his rough performances at the start of the season, with the Barcelona ace scoring no goals at all in the first two games of La Liga, the Polish striker has completely turned those beliefs on their own head and now tops the charts for the exciting Pichichi race after only having won the award last year.

For now, Robert Lewandowski shares the top spot for the La Liga top scorer with Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham with 5 goals each. Both the stars from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid now top the list simultaneously, however, Bellingham is set to play his sixth match in La Liga with Real Madrid soon against Atletico Madrid.

Others on that list after those two include Sergio Arribas of Elche with 4 goals and then multiple players, each of whom has scored 3 goals thus far this season:

  • Ferran Torres (FC Barcelona)
  • Abdon Prats (Mallorca)
  • Alvaro Morata (Atletico Madrid)
  • Hugo Duro (Valencia)
  • Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao)
  • Yangel Herrera (Girona)
  • Alexander Sorloth (Real Sociedad)
  • Takefusa Kubo (Real Sociedad)
  • Ander Barrenetxea (Real Sociedad)
  • Gorka Guruzeta (Athletic Bilbao)
  • Javier Guerra (Valencia)
  • Willian Jose (Real Betis)
