FC Barcelona continue to be a huge pull for the aspiring young talents of tomorrow. The Catalan giants are understandably a symbol of footballing greatness for the previous generations.

However, even today they continue to be a massive institution that creates new talents and develops those worthy of donning the Blaugrana colors. Stars like Joao Felix and Vitor Roque continue to aspire for greatness with Barcelona, having even achieved their dreams of signing with them.

Messi’s Brazilian fan

The latest in this long list of dreams is ‘Messinho’. Hailing from Brazil, Estevao Willian Almeida de Oliveira Gonçalves, or ‘Messinho’, is one of the newest pearls of Brazil.

Regarded as one of the most promising talents in world football, Messinho unveiled quite a lot in his recent interview that has gone viral as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo.

Talking about his favorite player, young ‘Messinho’ left no doubts whatsoever:

“Messi has always been my main inspiration. I watch videos of him every day. He’s a master. I can’t put into words how phenomenal he is. How can I explain in words that everything he does is phenomenal? I always try to replicate him on the field.”

Dream of Barcelona

He was then asked about Barcelona, and how big of an attraction they are. The player’s response was straightforward when questioned about Barça’s interest:

“Yes, I watch almost all of Barcelona’s matches; I’m a fan of the club. I have great admiration for the players who play there, and I hope to be there myself someday.

Making it clear that his goal is to one day reach FC Barcelona, the chances already look promising. Andre Curry, his agent, already has good ties with Barcelona and has made the transfer of fellow countryman Vitor Roque to Barça already into a reality. Moreover, Barcelona Sporting Director Deco already takes a liking towards the 16-year-old prodigy.

Recreating greatness

Next came a question regarding the heights that Messi, a Barcelona legend, has achieved. Messinho was asked if he would like to recreate his idol’s success, to which he replied:

“Of course. I will say it’s difficult but not impossible, but maybe I will follow in his footsteps. Everything he has achieved is difficult, but God willing, someday we will achieve it.”

Currently contracted to Palmeiras, the young Brazilian already has European eyes on him. A failed €50 million bid from Paris Saint-Germain is already an appetizer for what’s to come. Barcelona will want to act quickly if they have any intentions of wanting to scoop up the Brazilian wonderkid without any future complications.
