The latest clash for Barcelona has resulted in the Catalan giants winning against Alaves at the Montjuic Stadium. The final scoreline of 2-1 rather fittingly describes how proceedings went by for much of the game. With Alaves having their own moments to shine, so did Barcelona.

However, Barcelona once again started a game on the wrong foot. Alaves took the lead early within the very first minute and Barça were forced to retaliate. Ultimately, it would be a particular Polish striker who would ensure that all three points went to La Blaugrana.

As highlighted by SPORT, Robert Lewandowski comes to the rescue again for Barcelona and gives a significant boost to his claim to the Pichichi award. With two goals scored against Deportivo Alaves, Lewandowski takes his total tally to seven goals in La Liga EA Sports this season.

His first goal would mark the equalizer for Barcelona against Alaves in the 53rd minute. This goal would end up giving life to Barça’s dream of a potential comeback. A brilliant header from the 35-year-old saw Jules Kounde’s cross converter emphatically beyond the keeper’s outstretched arms.

Nearly 25 minutes later, Lewandowski would step up to take a penalty for Barcelona. After Ferran Torres was brought down in the box, the Polish striker stepped up confidently. Without any pressure or mistake, he would then score the penalty into the top corner.

With 7 goals in 11 games, Lewandowski joins the very best of goal scorers in La Liga. The top spot remains with Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham (10 goals), while the next two in the ranking are Antoine Griezmann and Gerard Morena with 8 goals each.

Lewandowski; on the other hand, shares the tally of seven goals with five other La Liga players. Alvaro Morata, Artem Dovbyk, Ante Budimir, Borja Mayoral, and Mikel Oryazabal are all also currently on seven goals in the Spanish first-division.
