The winter transfer window is fast approaching, and FC Barcelona have one clear objective to achieve in the month of January, i.e., the incorporation of Vitor Roque into the squad.

The Catalans have already signed the highly-rated striker, but his actual arrival at Barcelona depends on several factors, the most important of them being Barcelona’s salary margin.

Another factor that could have impacted Roque’s move to Barcelona is his recovery from the injury to his right ankle ligaments that he suffered in September. However, his recovery process is going according to plan, and this is not expected to become a hindrance in his move to Barcelona.

In fact, the player has already fully recovered from this injury and will return to the Athletico Paranaense squad this Friday, according to a report from SPORT. The player has been training with the ball for the entire last week.

While the player seems ready to get back to action, his coach, Wesley Carvalho, is not going to take any risks with him. Thus, he is likely to appear only as a substitute in the upcoming match against Vasco de Gama, which his club will have to win in order to remain in the race for a spot in the Copa Libertadores 2024.

Roque will play in the last four games for Athletico Paranaense, and once their season ends, the player will start preparing for life at Barcelona.

Deco wants the Catalans to use the salary margin they have gained with Gavi’s injury to register Roque, who can significantly help Xavi Hernandez’s team, which has struggled to score a lot of goals in their last few matches.

However, until he receives the final green light from Barcelona, he will remain in Brazil and utilize the vacation period to prepare fully for his career in Europe. Otherwise, if Barcelona confirm that he will be registered in January, he will travel with his family to the Catalonian capital, and start his adaptation process in the city and the club.
