At the moment, Barcelona and Brazil seem to be two very connected topics in the transfer market. Perhaps due to the influence of their new Director, Deco, La Blaugrana seem quite attentive to the Brazilian market. Interestingly, the latest addition to Barcelona was a Brazilian as well.

However, one man that certainly has a lot of eyes on him due to his potential is Estevao Willian. Aged just 16 as of right now, the Palmeiras winger has become the pearl of Brazilian football and many of Europe’s greatest teams are doing their own best to acquire his services.

As per Mundo Deportivo, however, the player and his entourage remain focused on Barcelona. The 16-year-old and his father have been thoroughly convinced by the project of La Blaugrana and believe it to be the best place for his development. Hoping to follow in the footsteps of one of his idols, Lionel Messi, ‘Messinho’ hopes to make his mark in Catalonia one day.

However, they are also willing to help Barcelona to make that a reality. In fact, the player and his entourage are hoping to force and convince Palmeiras to accept Barça’s payment terms, so that it becomes a feasible operation for the Catalans.

Both Willian and his family understand the financial dilemma over at Barcelona, and realize that additional help would be needed for this specific operation.

Even the player’s agent, Andre Curry, continues to work on his transfer. Simultaneously being the agent of Vitor Roque, Curry has good connections with Barcelona and within the Brazilian market.

Despite the €60 million release clause attached to Messinho’s name, Barcelona and the agent will work to find alternative payment methods.

One such method could be to pay a slight amount of that total value early. This would be helpful as the player would not, in any case, go over to Europe until 2025, when he will finally be 18 years old.

Until then, he is set to stay with his current side and thus Barcelona would get enough time to accumulate and save the rest of the funds.

Moreover, courtesy of the Super League, Barcelona could potentially have those funds easily available. For now, interest persists from the likes of PSG, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

However, Curry hopes to meet up with Deco and Laporta on the 3rd of January for Roque’s presentation. He would also use that opportunity to advance the talks about Estevao Willian and possible solutions for the transfer.
