Barcelona already looking at possible Xavi replacements – Romero

It seems that FC Barcelona will not have to wait long to see the consequences of their latest game. A loss to Villarreal CF at home is bad enough, but to lose by conceding five is beyond believable. For Barcelona, the aftermath of this crucial defeat will not be an easily dismissible one.

The direct impact will undoubtedly fall first and foremost on Xavi Hernandez. Formerly treated with respect and dignity as a legendary player, it seems that people involved with the club are looking at him quite differently as a manager, however.

Moving forward, there is no telling how bad things can get for the Spanish coach. According to Gerard Romero, in fact, it seems that things are already in motion within FC Barcelona when it comes to the managerial position.

As per his update, Barcelona Director Deco has been in contact with the agents of several managers over the last few weeks. While the names are yet to be disclosed or hinted at, it seems that the heads of Barça are no longer convinced by the current projection and displays that Xavi’s team has provided.

For Barcelona, it seems that even La Liga seems to be lost at this point. No incoming arguments or disagreements will change the fact that La Blaugrana have fallen 10 points behind Real Madrid, and that the title race now seems too big a jump for the Catalans to catch up to.

With this recent 3-5 defeat fresh in the memory of FC Barcelona, things are not looking too good. Only the UEFA Champions League is left as a possible title that Barcelona can compete for, but even that seems like a massive ask given how irregularly poor and inconsistent the Catalans have looked this season.
