It is not in the nature of FC Barcelona to forget the faces of those they once called their own. La Blaugrana are renowned for possessing some of the greatest rosters in football history, and a lot of players who did not make the cut as well. However, whether the player was a great or not, Barcelona tends to remember where they stood.

Other players, however, are remembered for things beyond just their playing days for the club. From the famous to the infamous, the Catalan club knows how to differentiate between the both. In the latest clash against Getafe at the Montjuic Stadium, Barça remembered to acknowledge one more infamous case.

As highlighted by SPORT, a certain Guinean midfielder felt the wrath of the Barcelona faithful in the latest encounter at the Montjuic Stadium. Ilaix Moriba, a former player for the Catalan club, was met with a rather melodious chorus of whistles and other less-than-appealing sounds.

Substituted close to the 77th minute by Jorge Bordalas, Moriba was Getafe’s final substitution of the game. His departure saw the Barcelona faithful to take the opportunity and let him know that they had not forgotten the way in which the once promising 21-year-old midfielder departed from their club.

Believing it to have been a case of greed over loyalty, Moriba is not remembered fondly by those who follow Barcelona. Now a player for German side RB Leipzig, he is currently on loan at Getafe in La Liga. However, his return to Barcelona has definitely not gone as smoothly as he possibly would have liked.

Even on the field itself, the 21-year-old hardly had a game to remember. Mostly chasing around the ball, the Guinean midfielder was at no point of the match comfortable with the way Barcelona was circulating the ball. Ultimately, it was a rather demoralizing blow to his confidence both on and off the field.
