It would appear that the objectives for FC Barcelona this summer are greatly varied. While many will recognize their efforts to sign a new winger as being their biggest priority, they have other goals as well. However, Barcelona will certainly not be stopping just there and then.

Instead, the Catalan club hopes to incorporate more than just one player this summer in the remaining days of the transfer window. As reported previously, the club currently hopes to incorporate both a new left-winger and a new fullback into the team.

When it comes to the left-winger, Barcelona seem to have Federico Chiesa as the name that suits them the best. The Italian winger would arrive at a manageable cost and he also seems to have the approval of new Barcelona coach Hansi Flick.

As for the fullback, the latest update points to a certain 21-year-old right-back from the Segunda Division. According to Jijantes FC, Marc Pubil of Almeria is the player that Barcelona are hoping to bring over to the club this summer as their possible fullback recruit.

The structure of the deal would primarily be that of a loan operation that includes a mandatory purchase option at the end. Barcelona consider that the player’s age and quality would both be beneficial to the squad and his type of profile could be a good asset to have.

Unfortunately, this interest will act as a double-edged sword for the team. Hector Fort, Barça’s 18-year-old academy right-back, would potentially be pushed out of the club as a result of this deal going through. According to the same update, Fort has not managed to fully convince Hansi Flick yet and it could lead to his departure.

Pubil, on the other hand, thoroughly impressed during the Summer Olympics with Spain and ended up winning a gold medal with his country. His signing continues to become more realistic for the club as the days go by, but he will surely not be the only option that Barcelona are studying.
