As the end of this summer transfer window comes closer, FC Barcelona have the clock ticking to make their desired moves in the market. As things stand, the Catalans are still trying to incorporate some players in their team, while also working on several files to move on some of their current players.

One such player whom the Blaugranes had been looking to get to a new club is the Brazilian youngster Vitor Roque. After having arrived at the Catalan club in the last winter transfer window, the striker has been unable to impress either Xavi or Flick, and a move away from Barcelona remains the best way forward for him.

Recent news on this subject indicated that Roque was getting closer to a loan to Real Betis, and FC Barcelona have now officially announced this loan transfer on their website.

The club’s statement reads that the two sides have reached an agreement for Roque’s loan till 30 June 2025, with the option of an additional year available for Betis. The Verdiblancos will also have the right to purchase the player at the end of this loan.

During his half-season at Barcelona, Roque made 16 appearances, 14 in La Liga and another 2 in Copa del Rey. He scored only two goals in these matches, despite having made a name for himself as a goalscoring prodigy in Brazil. Still, the first of his goals was quite valuable for Barcelona as it won them the full three points in a match against Osasuna.

With this move to Real Betis, Roque will get a good opportunity to get more game time and get better acclimatized to European and Spanish football. There is still a chance for him to return to Barcelona if he impresses in this stint, and hopefully, he can live his dream of succeeding at the Blaugrana club.
