After winning their first two matches of the 2024-25 season, FC Barcelona are set to return to action in La Liga today as they take on Rayo Vallecano on 27th August.

The Catalans will go into this game with very good form, and their star striker, Robert Lewandowski, has especially been in blazing form as he had the best start to a season in the last five years.

The final shape of the squad for this season is also now taking shape, as Barcelona have already announced the departures of Vitor Roque and Clement Lenglet on loan, while other players like Sergi Roberto, Ilkay Gundogan, Oriol Romeu, etc., have already left the club.

Dani Olmo has also been registered by the Catalans in time for this match, and he is expected to start the game against opponents from Madrid.

However, the list of players unavailable due to injury remains quite long as Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Ansu Fati are all already out, while Eric Garcia also suffered a plantar fasciitis in his right foot and the extent of his injury is yet to be determined.
