One of the biggest concerns for FC Barcelona this summer was their ability to incorporate new signings. While many knew that the Catalan club was targeting several names as potential acquisitions, there were other problems to deal with as well. Ultimately, it may not have been a very happening summer for Barcelona, but it definitely has been frustrating.

The one major signing that Barcelona were ultimately able to get over the line was that of Dani Olmo. Purchased from RB Leipzig for a rather sizeable amount considering Barça’s finances, there was at least hope regarding one new arrival within the Catalan club.

Unfortunately, earlier suspicions about the club’s ability to incorporate and register players ended up becoming a reality. Dani Olmo remained unregistered for the opening two games of La Liga, and it was a frustrating thing to witness both for the player and for fans alike.

Moreover, things were beginning to get even more worrisome when reports began to come out suggesting that he may not get registered for a potential third game as well. Fortunately, according to Mundo Deportivo, the player will finally end up getting registered before the upcoming game against Rayo Vallecano.

This new update comes off the back of Barcelona making some crucial changes thanks to Andreas Christensen’s untimely injury. With the Danish defender now sidelined for some time, La Blaugrana have decided to use the salary space being left vacant by temporarily removing his registration to register Olmo instead.

This will give Barcelona and Hansi Flick access to finally getting to use Dani Olmo while Christensen continues his recovery for the time being. Moreover, with the Dane not exactly being a crucial starter for Flick right now, Barcelona may think his absence may not be felt that much.

As for Olmo, there has been much excitement about the return of the former La Masia player. With a lot of versatility to offer alongside great technical ability, Hansi Flick and Barcelona may end up finding great use of the 26-year-old Spanish forward in the games to come.
