With three matches played, La Liga is already heating up. FC Barcelona have won all three of their opening encounters of the 2024-25 season, and are the sole leaders of the league table at this point in time.

On the other hand, their most likely opponents for the La Liga title, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, have both dropped important points as they have won only one of their first three matches, drawing the other two.

Meanwhile, the Pichichi race is also taking its early shape, and as SPORT has noted, Robert Lewandowski is currently the leader on this list. The last Pichichi winner, Artem Dovbyk, is no longer playing with Villarreal and thus La Liga will have a new Pichichi holder at the end of this season.

The two favourites for this title are Lewandowski, and the Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe. The €15m-rated Polish veteran already won this award back in his first season with FC Barcelona and wants to get his hands back on this trophy this season. He has three goals to his name up to now, despite not having scored in the game against Rayo Vallecano.

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid from PSG this summer, has won the top scorer’s award in Ligue 1 for the last six seasons. He will also be looking to maintain his winning streak, and also to make his first season in his favorite club a memorable one.

However, he has yet to open his scoring account, as he was unable to score a goal in the first three matches. Thus, Lewandowski already has a considerable advantage over him in this race, and his closest competitors currently are Arnaut Danjuma, Oihan Sancet, Iago Aspas, and Sandro Ramirez.

The 2024/25 Pichichi standings so far are as follows:

  1. Robert Lewandowski (FC Barcelona): 3
  2. Arnaut Danjuma (Villarreal): 2
  3. Iago Aspas (Celta): 2
  4. Oihan Sancet (Athletic): 2
  5. Sandro Ramírez (Las Palmas): 2
  6. Juan Cruz (Leganés): 2
  7. Òscar Mingueza (Celta): 2
  8. Marcos Llorente (Atlético): 2
  9. Gabriel Misehouy (Girona): 1
  10. Hugo Duro (Valencia): 1
