With their current economic and financial conditions, FC Barcelona cannot make large investments to buy many top-class players from the market. They signed Dani Olmo for a significant sum in the summer transfer window, and he was the only big addition made to the Catalan club’s first team.

In such a scenario, the Blaugranes are focusing more on the young talents emerging in the market, whom they can incorporate into their youth teams. Thus, they do not have to pay large sums of money for players who might command huge transfer fees in the future, and thus also get the opportunity to make some profit on these players.

Following this policy, Mundo Deportivo notes that Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the talents emerging in Africa, with several young players from this part of the world being associated with the Catalan club.

Only last year, Barcelona bought Mikayil Faye from the Croatian side NK Kustosija for €1.5 million. The Senegalese defender impressed in his one-year stint at Barcelona Atletic and was sold to Rennes for €10.3 million this summer as there was already a surplus of center-backs at the first team.

Similarly, Mamadou Mbacke was obtained on loan from Los Angeles FC and was permanently signed in this summer transfer window. Both of these players were key for Rafa Marquez’s Barcelona B side, and the club has continued to invest in African talent after seeing the performances of these two players.

Thus, Barcelona finalized the signing of a Ghanaian left-back David Oduro on the last day of the recently ended summer transfer window from Accra Lions.

Yesterday, the Blaugranes announced the arrival of another compatriot of Oduro, the attacking midfielder Abdul Aziz Issah, for Albert Sanchez’s Barcelona Atletic side. The Ghanaian is a regular feature for the Ghanaian U-20 side and can play in several attacking roles.

He is expected to travel to Catalonia in the coming few days after Dreams FC and Barcelona both announced his loan on their social media.

Furthermore, FC Barcelona are also expecting another African youngster, Ibrahim Diarra, to strengthen their reserve team in the coming winter window. He underwent trials with the Blaugranes last January and agreed to join Barcelona when he turned 18 years of age. He will reach this milestone on 12th December.
