‘Wouldn’t have let Vinicius or Mbappe in’… says club president who allowed Barcelona ace to train alone at the facilities

The world of football is a spontaneous place at times, and FC Barcelona remain no strangers to this fact at all. Irony and coincidence go hand in hand there, but so do sheer luck and misfortune from time to time. Several stories from Barcelona possibly agree on this, but there are times when new tales are worth telling.

One such tale involves Barcelona ace and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski. Now a 36-year-old professional footballer, the former Bayern Munich star continues to play at the top level while many of Europe’s other players at his age begin to look at less challenging leagues.

His start to the season, however, clearly showcases that this is not a player who is declining. Already a clear challenger for the Golden Boot, albeit he has his own rivals flowing in on him, the Barcelona ace has indeed showcased his great qualities that continue to persevere.

Yet, a lot of the credit for his resurgence this season may end up going to Cade Paguera. A local club based in Mallorca, this is a side that showed a lot of generosity to the Barcelona striker and allowed him to train individually using their club facilities during the summer break while no one else had those facilities to use.

Now, as highlighted by SPORT, the club’s president, Juanjo Moral, has come forward in a recent interview and even shared some insights about the thing and why he knew for a fact that it was not just a random prank being pulled on him when the Barcelona star’s representatives came calling:

“I didn’t think it was a joke because they said it was a Barça player, although they didn’t mention his name.”

However, he did take a slight dig at Real Madrid and their club president Florentino Perez right afterwards, suggesting some kind of a lack of understanding between them: “If Florentino Pérez had called, we would have told him the field was closed.”

He also seemed to be quite fond and proud of the fact that his club hosted Lewandowski, stating that he provided the Barcelona star with ‘everything’ he asked for:

“We provided everything Lewandowski asked for: balls, cones, small goals… If he had asked for a circus, we would have set up a circus.”

However, he also managed to get in another remark designed to target Real Madrid saying that he would not have let their best players enter the field even if he was paid for it: “I wouldn’t let Vinicius and Mbappé in even if I was paid €2,000 a day.”

Ultimately, it seems that his generosity managed to help Robert Lewandowski a lot. The Polish ace managed to take that training and revitalize his skills once more. His goals for Barcelona are there for everyone to see, but his individual displays and link-up plays with his teammates have looked much sharper as well compared to last season.
